I missed the Jeff Redd, Johnny Kemp concert, but I did see
some interesting films and spent some well deserved time with my brother from
another mother. The first film we saw
was Le Harve, a French film about a man who helped an African immigrant teen
get to his family in London. The second film, which was much more interesting,
30 Beats, was about the sexual escapades of New Yorkers. What I liked about
the film was they didn’t show any explicit sex scenes, they took you close, and
then continued to the next couple, which included one partner from the
previous couple moving one to their next
sexual adventure. Your mind was your sexual playground.
As for the weekend, I spent it in hair heaven. I attended a
natural hair event, where natural hair women were celebrated because of their
natural hair and their sprit. I also attended the “end of an era” celebration
for Tendrils natural hair salon. After 25 years Ms. Diane Bailey decided she
has style her last twisted in order to teach, write, and start a natural hair institute.
Hairs to the future
