On the road
This summer has been a world wind, in short, after the marathon I bought a car, saw the First Lady in Martha's Vineyard, and now I'm driving across the country from Texas to New York in my new baby. Currently I'm in New Orleans, my first stop on this journey. So many lessons learned and journeys traveled this summer. God is truly amazing. NYC saw very little of me, but my eyes and heart has been transformed.

Things have been happening
After a ten day vacation in Puerto Rico I came back and walked in my very first half marathon. In February after a crazy break up I started walking/ jogging, and it turned in this thing. Not only did I do it I'm thinking of signing up for another one in the spring time. I'm so proud of me of setting a goal and following through. Watch out I don't know what's next on the agenda but it will be great.

Holiday in full swing!
One of the best forth of July's ever, my mother actually left her comfort zone( the house ) for a few hours to go with me to the international African arts fest in bk. It was in a park, during the heat of the day, two things mom don't do. But she did for her baby girl. On Friday I ventured out to Coney Island with some friends and sat on the boardwalk to watch the craziness of brooklynites, and the Friday night fireworks. This summer break has been great so far. Now I'm off to Puerto Rico,

How you doing?
Since school ended, I've been busy, but Monday was an all time high. The Wendy Williams show, lunch, movies, and happy hour. In my Ice Cube voice, Monday was a good day.

School is out of session
So my summer officially ended three days ago, June 26th, and I couldn't be happier. June 26th also marked my tenth year of teaching. I can't believe the time has just flew by and I'm still standing. I have truly been blessed, so I will enjoy this well deserved summer off.
Thursday, my first full day off, I ran, went to the doctors and made a happy hour that I seem to miss all year. Friday I got my hair braided for the summer. Saturday I went to splish splash with the Girl Scouts, and today I'm in Harlem at the Harlem arts festival. I need a vacation from my vacation already. Lol, but im loving it. Be back soon with more summer highlights. Enjoy!

Just a Saturday in NYC
NYC BBQ at Madison park on 23street. Black jack BBQ pulled pork and blue smoke beef ribs were my choices.

Natural
At a hair event. Curls products are awesome for natural hair. Glad I made it off the waiting list. Now I have to go home wash my hair and prepare for the weekend events I have plan. Summer break is coming into fill swing.

Summer unofficially started
The unofficial official start of the summer begins with Memorial Day weekend. It was about this time last year that I started my blog, and I'm back. I anticipate having more posts since I have a iPhone now. If I can just remember when I'm on the street to take pics of the many things that NYC has to offer during the summer. Any who, until next time, have a look at my purse I got this year at Bam's African street fair.
